Benjamin Horne (b.1995) is a conductor, composer/arranger, and low brass performer. He is currently a Doctoral Wind Conducting and Master’s Music Composition student at Michigan State University. At Michigan State, Horne assists in all aspects of the band program including guest conducting all concert bands as well as the athletic bands. As a composer, Horne has written for various styles and instrumentations from large ensembles to solo and chamber works for instrumentalists as well as voice. Horne is an accomplished euphonium player and trombonist. He performs with the Sequence Euphonium Quartet and the Albireo New Music Collective. Horne previously served as Assistant Band Director at Holcomb Bridge Middle School in Alpharetta, GA. He also teaches on the brass staff of the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps. He received a Master’s degree in Music Performance at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. He earned his Bachelor’s at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University (GA) with degrees in Music Education, Music Performance, and a Certificate in Music Composition.
